Episode 55 - Episodes from the Crypt, Part IV - Coven - Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls

October 22nd, 2016

Iron-Cast continues our series of "Episodes from the Crypt", where we delve into the darker side of life... death, goth, horror and the occult. So far, we've brought you death, goth and horror, and this week we're bringing you the occult and satanism in the form of the 1969 debut release by Coven, "Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls". This album and this band mark the first time that occult and satanic themes were overtly used in music. But what of this album? Is it an album where the satanic and occult themes would become an influence on hard rock and heavy metal, or is this an album where the controversial themes seemed to be more of a gimmick designed to cover-up a generic, half-assed and rushed effort? Tune in to find out.
